Professional florist, creating everyday floral magic
My name is Karen Woolven, and I own and run Karen Woolven Flowers.
With over 20 years’ experience as an event florist, my company is now one of the event industry’s best-known floral design companies.
Together with my team of professional florists I create bespoke, stunning floral designs for corporate events (including award dinners, film premieres and product launches) and weddings.
I also run the independent florist boutique Karen Woolven Flowers in Greenwich, where my team handcrafts gorgeous arrangements for local customers with skill, love and attention to detail. I enjoy supporting English growers and suppliers, acting sustainably and, of course, getting to know my wonderful local clients.
Corporate contract flowers is another side of the business: we create and install fresh flowers to brighten up offices, restaurants, hotels and shops throughout London and the South East.
I fell in love with flowers and flower arranging at an early age, and have been lucky enough to be able to turn a passion into a successful career. I honed my craft over three years at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, first as a florist and then as florist manager. This meant providing everything from the smallest bouquet to creating the décor for large events for over a thousand people, alongside a constant demand for flowers to decorate rooms occupied by A-list guests.
After leaving this role I became a freelance florist, working with some inspirational top floral designers. Being part of the team on high-profile events including celebrity, society and royal weddings, film premieres and after-show parties, charity balls and product launches helped me refine my skills as an event florist.
In 2004 I launched Karen Woolven Floral Design, now known as Karen Woolven Flowers, and together with seven members of staff am on a mission to create floral magic every day, whatever the occasion.
