Amy and James approached us last year with a view to providing the florals for their Wedding which was to be held in the magnificent St Pauls Cathedral, followed by a ceremony at the refined Saddlers’ Hall, in the City of London.
Amy and James both knew what they liked – which was colour! I love a colourful wedding, many different flower varieties can come into play when colour is needed and the options are for more broad than using just the normal rose!
We settled on a mix of reds, blues and purples with hints of creamy ivory. Amy trusted me enough to let me decide on the percentages of each colour to work with the bridesmaids gowns. These were a lovely deep blue, and for them we created beautiful wrist corsages attached to navy ribbon, and I also wanted to pick up on the colours within Saddlers’ Hall.
I really enjoyed making the bouquet for Amy, making sure each flower was perfect and that the overall look of the bouquet was one of relaxed elegance. Thankfully Amy agreed!
Working alongside Party Ingredients, the top London caterer, we decorated the tables with silver pots full of the same colourful flowers, which included roses, anemones, hyacinths, ranunculus and herbs. Trios of these were placed around silver candelabra.
The finishing touches were to scatter oodles of candles everywhere and I just love the beautiful picture of Amy and James sitting amongst the candles on the steps to Saddlers’ Hall.
Candlelight and romance, what more could you ask for to end the perfect day.
